Arrival of foreign investment funds to finance constructors possible with resumption of buying power of public, says expert

The participation of foreign investment funds in financing construction companies in building residential houses is possible only if the buying power of the pubic is restored.

"There are special professional funds in the west, which invest in constructors. We should do this too. The investors would come when people are ready to buy apartments," the board chairman of Kharkiv-based Avantazh investment and construction corporation, Yuriy Kostohlodov, said on March 27 during a roundtable on the financing of developing projects in conditions of the downturn organized by the International Business Institute.

He said that long-term money should be raised for the realization of housing projects, while buyers should buy completed apartments rather than property rights.

Kostohlodov said that it is impossible to forecast what price levels would be like on the real estate market with the arrival of these funds.
